Remembrance Service 2022
Hamstel Infant School and Nursery held their Remembrance service on Friday 11th November 2022. The school commemorates this special event by holding a service which involves the sounding of the Last Post and a march past from members of Westcliff High School for Boys’ Combined Cadet Force.
We remembered those involved in current conflicts including the war in Ukraine. This year we also paid tribute for the commitment and dedication of Queen Elizabeth II and now look forward to the coronation of King Charles III.
Remembrance commemoration is very special to the Hamstel Schools, which were officially opened on August 31st 1914.
To hear the muted gasps made in awe of the cadets marching before the children brings an authenticity to our service. A real meaning of British Values and respect was experienced by the children.
Two children from each class at Hamstel Infant School and Nursery laid wreaths made from recycled materials to mark this special event. The laying of wreaths represents our mutual hope for the future. The message for our children is that they are our future and must learn to stand tall and bear the responsibilities that the future may bring with it. All the children were very respectful and we are very proud of them.
