School Council

Each September, KS1 classes vote in a two representative for their class, making up a School Council of 18 members. The children discuss the importance of this role and what makes a good School Councilor.  Children who are interested in representing their class put themselves forward and ‘pitches’ to their peers why they should be voted in.  All the children then get to vote.

The School Council meet on a weekly basis and discuss any topics and ideas raised by their classes using feedback from their class which is noted in their class book.  We discuss ways in which we can improve anything in and around school and solve any problems together.  It is part of the Councilor’s duty to feed back the minutes and raise any questions for discussion or voting.

Together the School Council help all our children have a voice and contribute to helping our school community grow and continue to improve.
